The drive over the Santa Cruz mountains from San Jose wasn't so bad today. It took around.. 40 minutes.
The beach was beautiful at when we got there! It was hot (78 degrees)! The sand was warm and there weren't too many people.

This is my beautiful friend Kristin (: As the lovely Kristin is showing, we decided to lay out in the sun first thing.
*Not pictured* We swam after laying in the sun getting warm. The water was so cold! I boogie boarded and Kristin jumped the waves. The water was a little dirty and the bottom was a bit rocky..
Then we went for a walk! We rescued some ladybugs...
Saw a dead seal...
Wrote our names in the sand...
And found a bunch of dead jellyfish!
Then we stopped on the top of a wooden staircase, after ascending a huge cliff. We talked, laughed, people watched, and overall had a good time!
I'd say that this beach day, although still fun, was not ideal. The beach smelled really horrible in some places (especially by the dead seal), the water was dirty, and the beach became crowded. And plus, I didn't put sunscreen on! So, I don't recommend Rio Del Mar Beach in Santa Cruz. But I do recommend a good beach day with some friends!
